Roles and Responsibilities
To drive Category C1,C,C+E vehicles safely, legally and efficiently as required.
To comply with all drivers hours and Road Transport Directive legislation.
Comply with the mobile workers working time directive legislation.
To load and unload vehicle and maintain safety and security of load at all times.
Carry out all necessary checks to ensure vehicle is safe and legal and to follow appropriate procedures if it is not.
To act as company ambassador when dealing with customers.
To complete all paperwork promptly and accurately as required (include any electronic devices that might be used, scanners, hand held POD etc.).
To plan and adapt routes as necessary and feedback to traffic office on any issues
around load planning and routing.
To operate all vehicle systems including Tail-lift.
To comply with all Health & Safety requirements in depot, on road and at customers
premises and to take responsibility for ensuring own fitness to drive at all times.
Provide support and feedback to colleagues and operations team.
Ensure the safe delivery of products and the administration of paperwork to a high

Ensure minimum damage.
Excellent attendance and time keeping.
Check all products are loaded and secured to minimise damage.
Report any load discrepancies immediately.
Keep company vehicles clean and tidy at all times.
Experienced in all aspects of driving LGVs - Driving Goods Vehicle NVQ preferred.
Thorough knowledge of driver's hour's legislation, tachograph procedures and other legal obligations.
Demonstrable route planning and map reading ability.
A good level of general fitness and stamina.
To be reliable and punctual.
Excellent organizational skills.
Common sense and a responsible attitude.
A polite attitude towards other road users.
An awareness of health and safety issues.
Good customer service skills.
Basic numeracy and literacy skills for completing record sheets and paperwork.
To work well in a team.
Must hold and have minimum entitlement to drive category C, C+E vehicles.
Hold or willingness to work towards gaining driver CPC qualification.
