Job Overview Responsible for the overall operation of the department (grocery, frozen foods and dairy items) including sales, profitability, productivity and its general appearance. He/she manages department staff, deals with customers and with sales representatives from various companies. Key Duties & Responsibilities Maximizes sales and profit objectives by implementing marketing and merchandising programs. Oversees merchandising of end displays, seasonal displays and cross merchandising. Maintains product levels by stocking shelves and monitoring product Manages department staff by hiring, training and coaching, reviewing performance and providing feedback, and conducting disciplinary procedures. Maintains inventory levels by counting stock, ordering and receiving product, and checking invoices. Performs administrative duties such as signing time statements for payroll, ordering product, and producing sales, purchase and manager's reports. Maintains operating policies and procedures by reviewing, updating, and enforcing compliance with legislated requirements (e.g., Food Safety and Health & Safety), and by training staff. Provides customer service by responding to their inquiries and resolving issues. Performs other related duties as required Qualifications Retail - 5 years' experience in a grocery setting, supervisory/ management experience High school diploma plus two (2) years' experience as a Grocery Clerk or an equivalent combination of education and experience Knowledge of grocery products Good understanding of Food Safety and Health and Safety legislation Knowledge of Company policies and procedures Skills Good customer service skills Strong interpersonal skills including attention to detail, time management and ability to multi-task Good written and verbal communication skills Proven ability to hire, train and coach staff Basic ability to use Microsoft Office Physical ability to perform the duties of the job Other Job Requirements Lifting weights of 10 - 20 kilograms (e.g., cases of water, frozen foods, juice) Standing and walking for long periods of time while working in the grocery aisles Some reaching and bending while stocking shelves and putting up displays Using equipment including box cutters, dollies, pump jacks and powerjacks for moving product in receiving and storage areas Exposure to seasonal heat and cold and dust while working in receiving area By applying to this position you are confirming you possess either a Canadian citizenship, permanent resident status or work permit Kontakt: Aplikuj teraz Ogłoszenie pochodzi z serwisu Jobs.pl .
