    Reporting to the Head of Enterprise Risk for EMEA, this role carries responsibility for ensuring legal and statutory compliance requirements are identified and enacted across the EMEA region. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, undertaking thematic and targeted research on recruitment related legislation relating to Allegis Group EMEA businesses in each of the countries where we operate. Utilizing Subject Matter Expert (SME) knowledge in the compliance and risk environment to support the business, and identifying and supporting decisions on how to implement changes that mitigate legal and statutory related risks.

    Key Responsibilities:

    • Undertaking regular research and accumulating external market knowledge, internal business knowledge and legal and regulatory knowledge relevant to our operating companies in EMEA.
    • Analysis of laws and regulations throughout EMEA to assess risk impact on our operating companies and targeted, concise, meaningful and clear communication of that analysis.
    • Proactive identification of potential areas of risk; Participation in Enterprise Risk Assessments, developing and supporting line management with the implementation of corrective action plans, processes and policies for resolution of potential risk events.
    • To work in conjunction with the Legal Department to develop and prepare the necessary policies, guidelines and business processes to enable full compliance with relevant laws and regulations across the EMEA region.
    • Develop and drive an EMEA legal & statutory compliance testing and monitoring plan, ensuring legal & statutory compliance is tracked and appropriate reports are provided to Management.
    • To be seen as a leader to be relied upon by its customers (internal and external) with a strong knowledge of Legal and statutory compliance matters in the Recruitment industry.
    • Providing guidance on legal and statutory compliance matters to relevant parts of the business and develop clear and commercially aware recommendations to leadership on how to best effectively/efficiently manage resultant potential risks.
    • Collaborate with other departments (HR, Legal, Finance, Operations, IS/IT, Information Security, etc.) to assess and highlight risks and to recommend and assist with implementation of mitigation programmes.
    • Managing compliance risks by driving awareness throughout the organisation.
    • Maintain and renew relevant licenses and registrations as required by each operating company across the jurisdictions within which Allegis EMEA operates.
    • Manage and renew when necessary the various ISO certifications held by the Company.
    • Building and maintaining internal and external relationships.

    Key skills required:

    • Minimum of 4-6 years of related business experience (HR, Legal or Accounting/Finance) - preferably in staffing or services industry and in a Compliance related role.
    • A good understanding of Regulatory Compliance requirements and risk-based monitoring techniques.
    • Understanding of governance, risk management and control frameworks.
    • Ability to identify and analyse complex laws, regulations and issues and recommend business and commercially sensitive solutions.
    • Ability to tailor clear and concise communications on complex issues to relevant different parts of the business and stakeholders.
    • Strong written and verbal communications skills.
    • Strong problem solving, analytical and project management skills.
    • Ability to discuss with, provide guidance to leadership and front line teams.
    • Experience of creating and deploying comprehensive Compliance Plans which consistently deliver desired results.
    • A comprehensive understanding of risk management and proven experience of ensuring own/others' compliance with relevant regulatory processes.
