Nr ref.: /JOBS.pl

  • Salary: 35000.00-35000.00 British Pound . GBP (Annual)

My client is a multinational corporation that specialize in the development and manufacturing of Video, Voice and Content Collaboration and Communication technology. They have come to me with a requirement for a EMC Test Engineer to strengthen their existing team of engineers.

    The Role

This position is primarily responsible for providing EMC testing in our Product Compliance Laboratory based in Monmouth. Results are formally reported and used to ensure that products comply with Worldwide Electromagnetic Compatibility and other electronic regulatory requirements.

To perform this function, it will be necessary to develop an understanding of the nature of my clients products, the requirements placed upon them for EMC compliance, and to translate such understanding into relevant test requirements.

Whilst initially working alongside more senior engineers, this role has the aim of a level of independence and it is expected that small projects will become fully managed by the successful applicant over time.

    Typical Duties and Responsibilities

Reporting to the Laboratory Manager, the role is required to provide high-quality and effective test support to the Product Compliance team.

Daily activities will involve many of the following:

    • Configuring samples to enable a representative test result to be obtained.
    • Performing Electromagnetic Compatibility tests against national and international standards
    • Preparing test reports on the tested product.
    • Following recognized quality standards including the laboratories internal written quality procedures.
    • Performing certain in-house calibration of test equipment.
    • General housekeeping activates on the Laboratory Management Database.
    • Other ad-hoc tasks as required.

    Required Skills and Expertise

This role will likely appeal to a well-organised, energetic and adaptable individual who enjoys taking increasing responsibility and working as part of a close and friendly team in a fast-moving environment.

    Requirements include the following:

    • A minimum of HND in Electronic Engineering or equivalent in a related discipline preferably with experience in a similar role. Recent graduates with limited experience will be considered, subject to the desire to learn and grow into the position as attitude is more important than experience.
      • An innovative and professional approach to work yet willing to be bound by processes and procedures.
      • An ability to work in a tidy and methodical manner.
      • A desire to develop the capability to analyse data and apply theoretical concepts to provide physical solutions.
      • An ability to organize and manage information from multiple sources.
      • Good communication (verbal and written) with the desire to work as a team and get things done .
      • Being a self-starter. Able to react positively to issues and challenges.
      • A desire to work in a fast paced dynamic environment at the leading edge of technological advancement.
      • PC literate, with a good knowledge of Word, Excel and Outlook.

The individual must be organised and goal-driven with a friendly positive personality and be able to work as a strong member of a team. Should be willing to occasionally work flexible hours, sometimes at short notice.
