Our Faurecia Emissions Control Technologies Europe Division is looking for an System Engineer Exhaust Dynamic Sound Technologies (m/f) (EDST) to be based in Augsburg.
Systems Engineering is an interdisciplinary approach to develop a system. It integrates different engineering disciplines and capabilities to a consistent, team oriented, structured process from the concept phase till production and even until end of lifetime.
The System Engineer is in charge of the definition of the functional requirements on system and sub-system level. He is responsible for complete and consistent requirements with a top-down approach. Based on the understanding of the functional needs of the full system he/she has to deduce the system architecture.
The System Engineer provides a shared vision of needs and solutions to the full team and has to avoid lack of the whole picture. The System Engineer reports functionally to the Project Manager.
Role and responsibilities Clarify the stakeholder needs and create the system specification Define and justify the system architecture and deduce the consistent component specification including SW and electric electronic HW: This task includes numerous studies to understand the impact of each component on the system performance. Organize the validation of the system by defining a system validation and sub-system integration plan, as well as a calibration methodology Ensure a close link to the Program Manager and the specialists for exhaust gas systems, electronics, softwareTechnical skills Generalist engineer with a focus on signal processing (SW/HW) and powertrain Certificate in Systems Engineering Incose CSEP (or Incose ASEP) Automotive knowledge Engine and Exhaust gas system knowledge Knowledge in vibration technology Knowledge about software development from concept to series E/E knowledge Knowledge in Matlab / Simulink Capabilities and skills A general very good technical understanding Team working / Very good communication Autonomous, enthousiastic and dynamic Analytic and synthetic capabilities, able to give rigorous output Pedagogic towards non specialists German & English mandatory, French is a plus Experiences
