Nuclear Medicine Technologist Nr ref.: /JOBS.pl We are looking for a Nuclear Medicine Technologist with experience in generator based Radiopharmacy and Wet Radiopharmaceutical operations to work out of our Toronto area clinic . 2 Positions: 1 Full-time Nuclear Medicine Technologist & 1 Nuclear Medicine Technologist with experience in generator based Radiopharmacy and Wet Radiopharmaceutical, preferably. Nuclear Medicine Technologist with experience in generator based Radiopharmacy and Wet Radiopharmaceutical: Role Competencies: The main responsibilities are the preparation, quality control and supply of radiopharmaceuticals, and conducting nuclear medicine studies while ensuring the safety and efficacy of such products. Prepares and dispenses radioactive pharmaceuticals applying principles and practices of pharmacy and radiochemistry Set up, operate and run generator based wet Radiopharmacy. Experience in elution, reconstitution of cold kits, QC of Radiopharmaceutical preparations, and dispensing multiple doses as per requirement. Compounds radioactive substances and reagents to prepare radiopharmaceuticals, following Radiopharmacy laboratory procedures. Adhering to aseptic practices and ALARA Principles so as to ensure sterility of the labeled product as well as radiation safety Assays prepared radiopharmaceutical, using measuring and analysis instruments and equipment, such as ionization chamber, pulse-height analyzer, and radioisotope dose calibrator, to verify rate of drug disintegration and to ensure that patient receives required dose. Consults with clinic manager or physician following patient treatment or procedure to review and evaluate quality and effectiveness of radiopharmaceutical. Prepares reports for regulatory agencies to obtain approval for use of new radiopharmaceuticals. Maintains control records for receipt, storage, preparation, and disposal of radioactive nuclei. Experience in maintaining all regulatory compliance for CNSC, Transport Canada and Health Canada Experience in handling Radiopharmacy/NM Information (RM/NMIS) Is responsible for computer processing of nuclear medicine studies where applicable as well as the proper operation of all nuclear medicine equipment. Qualifications & Requirements: Must be available to work early mornings (3:00 am onwards) to prepare the radiopharmaceutical for same-day testing Current CAMRT/OAMRS membership in good standing CMRTO registered in nuclear medicine 1-3 years of related experience. Holder of valid Ontario G Drivers License Experience in TDG Experience in PET preferable. Experience in multiple imaging platforms including GE MG, DSpect, Philips Gemini PET systems, Siemens Ecam. Excellent IV skills Experience in PACS based reporting system RSO certification training preferable Current BCLS/ACLS, WHMIS certifications Demonstrated commitment to continuing education and training Excellent written and verbal communication skills Strong organizational and interpersonal skills Demonstrate effective decision making skills and problem solving abilities Ability to work independently as well as part of a team Nuclear Medicine Technologist: Position Summary: Responsible for ensuring patient identification, safety and preparation are correct prior to a scan while maintaining patient confidentiality. Ability to perform Nuclear Medicine Procedures including radio pharmaceutical preparation, bone and bone densitometry scans, brain, thyroid, liver/spleen and RBD liver/spleen scans, hepatobiliary, renal scans, lung, gallium scans, venograms, dacrocystograms, testicular scans, rest and stress MUGA's, rest and stress myocardial imaging. Ensures all quality control assessments are performed as required including maintaining proper records of Quality Control Procedures. Takes all reasonable precautions and work in compliance with related policies, health and safety legislation and best practices. Follows procedures for proper equipment maintenance are completed in accordance with department standards. Ensuring equipment and instruments are performing in an efficient and effective manner Complies with all Company and Government regulations Preparing reports as required maintaining all records for compliance with CNSC regulations. Other duties as assigned. Key Qualifications: Current CAMRT membership CMRTO registered 0-2 years of related experience Current CPR certificate Knowledge and proficiency of Nuclear Medicine procedure and operating regulations. Maintain competence in all aspects of Nuclear Medicine technology as may be required by the professional bodies regulating this profession. We thank in advance all applicants for their interest.
