National Grid is international electricity and gas company and one of the largest investor-owned energy companies in the world. We play a vital role in delivering gas and electricity to many millions of people across Great Britain and North Eastern US in an efficient, reliable and safe manner.
We are committed to safeguarding our global environment for future generations and providing all our customers with the highest standards of service through investment in our networks and through our talented, diverse workforce.
National Grid owns the high-voltage electricity transmission network in England and Wales and operates the system across Great Britain. It also owns and operates the high pressure gas transmission system in Britain and its distribution business delivers gas to 11 million homes and businesses.
All our networks are highly complex - requiring a unique mixture of skills, experience and planned investment. Our electricity and gas networks pass through areas of land, both urban and rural, that are constantly subject to change and development. Our Land Officers provide a day-to-day point of contact for our grantors and also ensure we have the necessary land rights for the networks we own and operate. We're looking for a number of Senior Land Officers to join us and help to deliver the highest quality service to our customers all over the UK.
You'll be responsible for delivering new land rights, acquiring land and providing specialist valuation and property support to major projects. You'll also ensure that project resource requirements are identified, procured and sufficiently embedded within the Land team.
You will have experience as a Surveyor or Land Officer and have good knowledge of valuation principles, urban and rural land issues and Land Compensation Law. The ability to understand wider planning, environmental and amenity issues is also crucial to succeeding in this role, as is having excellent project and contract management skills and experience. You'll use your excellent communication skills to effectively support the activities of junior colleagues and negotiate with a wide range of external stakeholders.
At National Grid, we don't just ask our people to deliver to the highest standards. We also support them to be the best they can be. Accredited training programmes and personal development courses are a part of life here. We value and encourage diversity of gender, race and thought, whatever your background. By helping you shape your career and get to where you want to go, we create a switched-on workforce. Which is exactly what we need to achieve our vision of creating new sustainable energy solutions.
