sheltered housing Manager Nr ref.: /JOBS.pl Salary: 29.00-29.00 British Pound . GBP (Hourly)   Job summary To provide an efficient and effective sheltered housing management service that is customer focussed, monitor the performance of the service to ensure that services are delivered efficiently and effectively to a high standard of customer care and to act as the council's professional lead for all aspects of service delivery. Allocated duties may include: To manage a team of 23 sheltered housing staff to ensure quality services are delivered to service users in 20 schemes, including supervision and support, planning personal development, managing workloads and performance monitoring. To ensure compliance with corporate, contractual obligations and developmental quality initiatives, particularly Investors in People, Charter Mark and the Comprehensive Performance Assessment Framework. To be responsible for the efficient use of services to ensure the effective use of scarce resources and compliance with statutory obligations eg Health and Safety, and good practice. To maintain a culture of continual service improvement, identifying and developing service improvements. To manage and control all contracts and budgets and to advise on any necessary remedial action. To prepare reports, briefing notes and other written materials as directed. Develop and maintain close partnership arrangements with a range of internal/external agencies engaged in the provision of services to older people. To work closely with other service areas, such as Community Engagement and Repairs and Compliance, to provide high quality housing services that best meet residents' needs. To ensure that all performance targets are met and exceeded and to ensure that a performance culture is proactively owned and encouraged by all staff. To undertake regular monitoring of services provided within the sheltered housing schemes, whether directly delivered through the team or through others, in close consultation with residents. To ensure that residents are able to access and are signposted to specialist services relating to dependency, mental health, or other needs. Candidate Profile A thorough understanding of current issues affecting the delivery of an enhanced Sheltered housing management and Telecare services Demonstrates a thorough knowledge of the issues facing elderly people and understanding of the associated risks and challenges that this presents and of how they can be alleviated through the services provided to older people by statutory and voluntary agencies Knowledge of equalities legislation and good practice and its application in relation to housing services, including Safeguarding. Knowledge of financial management. Experience of working at a senior level. Experience of motivating and managing staff in a customer focused environment. Developing and implementing an Equalities approach in service delivery and staff management. Experience of analysing, monitoring and developing information management systems to improve service delivery. Ability to plan, prioritise and delegate work, and achieve tasks within tight deadlines. Ability to lead, motivate and develop staff and to plan and evaluate their work Ability to analyse complex issues and written material quickly, to think creatively about problems and identify solutions. Ability to communicate clearly and effectively verbally and in writing Be able to liaise with external agencies and other statutory bodies to ensure that residents needs are being met. Be able to develop sympathetic professional working relationships with residents founded on an appreciation of their physical, social and emotional needs. Advanced skills in health and safety, including the identification and reporting of hazards and minimising risks. Ability to manage and resolve conflict.
