    Technical Editor/Writer/Project Manager required by my global leading Construction/Engineering client in Buckinghamshire.

    You will be based in the publications team, working alongside SME's to prepare and publish technical information. You will have strong Project management experinece and be able to manage multiple projects simultaneously and identify commercial opportunities.

    The client is flexible and the role can be done either over 4 or 5 days. Ideally you will be based onsite, however the client would be open to you working from home 2 days a week.

    You will be able to prepare and structure information for a wider professional audience and will therefore more than likely have technical background (ideally related to construction or structural materials).

    Main responsibilities:

    • To commission, edit, produce and project manage technical and management publications, from draft to final document in multiple digital and print formats.
    • To identify commercial opportunities to create bespoke, new or adapted information for targeted markets
    • Combine technical and editorial expertise to deliver a profitable technical writing/publishing service
    • To maintain high quality standards of technical information for the clients group of companies
    • To work closely with team members, technical staff and external suppliers to deliver projects on schedule and within budget

    Experience required:

    • Strong Technical Writing and Editorial experience with technical subject matter required
    • Graduate level or equivalent, in a technical subject area eg within Construction or Engineering preferred
    • Strong Project Management skills, with the ability to co-ordinate suppliers/freelancers and work on multiple projects simultaneously and identify commercial opportunities
    • Knowledge of building/construction materials would be highly advantageous
    • Professional individual with a commercial outlook
    • Excellent English language skills and an understanding of publishing processes
    • Strong MS Office skills - intermediate Word/Excel
    • Knowledge of e-book production, Photoshop/Illustrator, InDesign and HTML are advantageous

    The ideal candidate will have experience of writing for professional readers and will possess an excellent eye for detail and the presentation of technical information in various electronic/print formats.

    All candidates must be eligible to live and work within the UK without requiring sponsorship.
